One day while travelling home from school Watanuki stumbles across a strange shop that grants wishes. Yuuko the shopkeeper claims she can help with his problem, promising to remove the curse that draws malevolent spirits to him, something he struggles with everyday and in desperation Watanuki accepts, not realising he’s being tricked into working for her at her shop to pay off her wish granting services. And so Watanuki starts helping Yuuko around the shop, meeting all sorts of customers in the process with all kinds of wishes great and small. Along the way he forms bonds of friendship with his schoolmates and various spirits he helps out at the store.
